In the middle of our daily routines, even the most compassionate people forget that some commonplace gestures, some genuine compliments, a few everyday acts of kindness can have transformative potential... Recently, I read Michelle Obama's book Becoming , and at one point, she quotes something that had long been a credo of her dad, Fraser, which goes, “...that most people were good people if you just treat them well...” And for that matter, my dad always said, “What you give is what you get back...” Every morning, when you wake up to your alarm but aren’t motivated to get out of bed...
